About the chef

My name is Jens Söndergaard, half Swedish, half Danish, and wholeheartedly a gastronome with almost 30 years of experience as a chef, where I have worked as a head chef in everything from Michelin restaurants to Meyers canteens. However, it has never been stars that have driven me but the love for flavor, cut to the bone, and the simplicity of good ingredients. Being able to pass this on, served on a plate to happy guests, is an experience every time.

Privately, my wife and our two children recently bought a small country estate with 1 hectare of land, overlooking Lammefjorden, a newly established organic kitchen garden, and the dream of eventually running, among other things, a pop-up restaurant, cooking school, and catering. Sustainability, animal welfare, and the farm-to-table philosophy are part of my cooking, just as I would love to include our own ingredients, but also other local products of high quality, in the food for you and your guests.

Take a look at my menus, which are mostly for inspiration. The experience from many private dining events and larger and smaller gatherings tells me that we create the perfect menu through dialogue.

Helt fantastisk mad. Vi sammensatte menuen måneder i forvejen sammen med Jens ud fra et lækkert forslag han lavede.
Portionsanrettet forret med hvide asparges var helt suveræn!
Hovedretten var efter vores ønske på fade der blev delt på bordene. Der var så mange forskellige små retter, som hver var en lækker oplevelse.
Vi besluttede selv at lave desserten uden Jens' hjælp.
Jens var nem at kommunikere med og var selvkørende i køkkenet. Vi hyrede 4 unge tjenere til at hjælpe ham med servering, afrydning og opvask.
Jens ankom 5 timer før servering, fordi vi skulle nå at lukke ham ind før vi tog afsted til vielsen.

Jens cooked for 24 people at my round birthday and it was absolutely fantastic. Jens is super professional, calm, and friendly. Everything was perfect from the start in terms of making the agreement, finding a good menu, punctuality, and the entire process in the evening. Guests unsolicitedly praised the food, which was both delicious, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I can truly recommend Jens as a chef, and I am sure I will use his culinary skills again.

We had the pleasure of having Jens as our chef yesterday, and it was a fantastic experience. The food was incredibly delicious, with perfectly balanced flavors and beautifully presented. Jens was both professional and approachable, and he had everything under control, which made the whole experience even better. It was clear that he is passionate about his craft, and it really showed in every single dish.
